Michaelmas Festival

September 26, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

MICHAELMAS FESTIVAL – Whole School Festival,
Thursday 26th September, 5.45pm for a 6pm start.
Michaelmas Festival is named for the Archangel Michael, conqueror of the powers of darkness and the harvester of all deeds of the souls of men.  It is the time that the image of Michael with the dragon appears before us as a mighty imagination, challenging us to develop strong, brave, free wills, to overcome love of ease, anxiety and fear. This demands inner activity, a renewal of the soul which is brought to consciousness in the Michaelmas Festival, the festival of the will. We often hear of St George slaying the dragon: he symbolises the human aspect of this conflict: he is the knight who looks to Michael for strength and guidance.

Children from Kindergarten to Class 7 are preparing for this festival of renewal with a performance.  Children to be in their classrooms by 5.45pm in full costume.
